Shawnie, an up and coming model from Bournemouth wanted to up-date her portfolio before she heads to the bright lights of London. So a shoot on the beach to me sounded perfect. Ok perfect for me, the sun was out, she wore a fitted short dress and a stunning red coat, I wore thermals and ski gloves… wow it was cold – no pain no gain, the life of a photographer and his model. My first challenge was to keep my light soft box from blowing into the sea. In the end I just gave up and used straight flash. I did not tether – connected to laptop to view shots live for more accuracy – as time was an issue. All shots were taken with my trusty f2.8 24-70mm lens which is any pro photographers go-to-lens with edits in Lightroom and PS.
